Ajman man blinded in one eye after punch

An Asian youth punched a compatriot in his left eye in Ajman, leaving him totally blind in that eye, according to a report in the Arabic daily newspaper Emarat Alyoum.

The apparent reason for the attack was that the victim was looking at women standing near a shop.

Witnesses saw blood coming out of the victim’s eye, the report said.

Police took him to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Ajman. The medical report showed that a blood vessel in his left eye had burst, making him blind in that eye.

According to the Public Prosecution, the victim was walking near a mall when the accused hit him on his left eye because, according to the attacker, he was ‘chasing women.’

The attacker also said the victim was looking at him with disrespect and when asked why, the victim did not answer, prompting him to slap him and hit him in the eye.
