Asian couple accused of trying to kill Gulf man

An Asian couple went on trial in Ras Al Khaimah on charges of trying to kill a farmer from another Gulf country by using guns and arrows.

The farmer suffered from light injuries in the attack which was triggered by a financial dispute, according to local newspapers.

During hearings, the woman denied she was involved in the attack and her lawyer presented a film in court showing she was shopping at Dubai Mall at the time of the attack. The lawyer also asked court to reduce the charges of attempted murder to threat to kill on the grounds the plaintiff suffered from only bruises.

The papers said Wednesday’s hearings were adjourned due to the absence of forensic experts.
