Asian to be executed for murder in RAK

A Ras Al Khaimah criminal court sentenced an Asian man to death after he was found guilty of killing an old Emirati man by stabbing him 21 times.

The court also sentenced a man from another Gulf country to life in prison after he was found guilty of strangling an Arab to death.

Police arrested the Asian as a suspect in the murder of the Emirati after a search in the victim’s mobile phone showed he was called just before the crime was committed.

Police had said they found the victim’s body in his car which was parked under a bridge in the Northern Emirate.

They did not give details of the murder apart from saying the victim was stabbed 21 times in the chest and abdomen.

In the second case, a Gulf defendant confessed to strangling the Arab man to death with the help of a friend, who was involved in transporting the body.

The court sentenced the Gulf man to life in jail and his accomplice to one year in prison for misleading authorities.
