Child trapped in car accidentally locked by mom

Civil defence men in Ras Al Khaimah had to smash the back lock of a car to rescue a two-year-old Emirati boy trapped inside after his mother accidentally locked the vehicle while the engine was running, a newspaper reported on Friday.

The panicking mother called the police and civil defence after she struggled in vain to open her car and save her son who could have suffocated inside.

“The mother was panicking and was very nervous when the civil defence and police men arrived in Al Nakheel area where the car was parked,” ‘Al Khaleej’ daily said.

It said civil defence units used special tools to smash the back lock to open the car doors and rescue the child.
