Cleaner steals woman's purse with Dh20,000

A saleswoman was shocked to find out that her purse was not in her handbag after filling petrol in her car at a fuel station.

On April 6 at around 6pm, JZ, 27, finished her work in a company in the free zone.

“I drove to the fuel station to fill petrol. After filling the car, I looked for my purse in my handbag to pay for the petrol. As I did not find it, I thought that I may have forgotten it in the office,” she said.

On the next day morning, JZ went to work and was hoping to find her purse which contained Dh20,000, $600 and some cards in the office.

“When I reached there, I searched everywhere but did not find the purse,” she said.

Police was informed and reviewing CCTV footage, it was found out that cleaner FF, 35, Sri Lankan, was the one who stole the purse.

FF admitted to stealing the purse.

The court will give its verdict on June 10
