Court jails Dubai cop for raping European woman

Dubai Court has jailed a policeman for two years for kidnapping and raping a European woman.

According to  Court records, the policeman showed his identity card to win the woman's trust and then asked her to get into his car. Then he took her to a remote area where he threatened to ruin her reputation if she refused and raped her.

The victim told police and the Court that the accused stopped her in the street after a night at a hotel with her boyfriend and asked her to show her identity card and get into the car, the Arabic daily Al Bayan reported.

After consistently refusing to enter the policeman's car, the victim claimed that she did as ordered because she was scared after he showed his police ID card.

When the policeman took her to a dark place, he pretended to be searching her for drugs which she denied possessing.

“But when he threatened to ruin my reputation, I got scared and let him search. But after that he raped me,” the victim said.
