Dad puts sticking tape on crying baby’s mouth

An Arab father in Dubai tried to stop his two-month-old son from crying by putting a sticking tape on his month all nights before his Asian wife decided to report him to the police, according to the emirate’s authorities.

The father admitted that he resorted to such behavior after his son would not stop crying most of the night, the criminal investigation department (CID) said.

His wife said she had begged her husband many times to stop such an inhuman act before she decided to report him to the police.

“She told police that he did not listen to her and continued putting a sticking tape on his baby’s mouth…we summoned the husband, who admitted doing so,” said Lt Colonel Rashid bin Thabwi, criminal control director at the CID.

“The father said he was doing so because his son would not stop crying…he was accused of endangering his son’s life by resorting to such a cruel act.”
