A 28-year old stateless man, AMM, accused of raping a maid at a knife-point, received 10 years in jail followed by deportation, by the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance.

According to the records, the convict knocked on the door of the victim’s villa in Al Qusais at 3.3am.

The victim opened the door thinking that it was a friend but was shocked to see someone wearing mask and waiving a knife at her asking for sex.

She submitted to his will scaring of him.

After raping her, he stole her mobile and left. The prosecution which accused AMM of rap, theft and trespassing said that he was also under the influence of alcohol.

3 jailed for stealing number plates

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance awarded three accused six months in jail for stealing number plates of a car and fixing them on a car they had stolen.

The convicts MHS, 21, Yemeni, student and other two Iranians: HMM, 19, jobless and AHA, 19, student, will be deported after serving their jail terms.

According to the records, on March 7, Corporal Raed Abdulrahim, testified that on March 7, he caught MHS, 21, driving a car with a stolen number plate.

“Confronting him, he confessed to stealing the car and the number plate from another car,” he testified.
The three are also being prosecuted for another theft case.

Watchman gets 6 months in jail for robbing flat

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance awarded a watchman of a building who robbed the same flat twice while the tenant was sleeping in six months in jail sentence.

MYN, 23, Indian, was ordered deportation after serving his jail sentence.

According to the records the Dubai Prosecution accused MYN of stealing from the flat of an Iraqi tenant on November 16, 2011 and January 1, 2012 - $4,300 and Dh13,500.

The victim JHH, 41, testified that on November 16, 2011 he returned home at around 7pm and found that the lock of a handbag where he kept four cheque books, a gold ring and $4.300 broken and the cash missing.

In the second incident, he returned home on January 1, 2012, at around 2am and put his wallet which contained Dh13,500 on the table in the living room and went to sleep in the bedroom.

The next day morning, he found his wallet emptied.

The accused, who had a previous theft record, admitted to the crime.
