Dh140m worth cocaine seized from warehouse

Dubai Police have seized a huge consignment of cocaine worth about Dh140 million.

The drugs –a total of – 93kgs was allegedly being ferried from Brazil and was hidden in a commercial property in Dubai.  Following a tip-off on November 16 the police raided the place and discovered  four bags containing suspicious contraband on a ship heading to the UAE from Brazil.

The consignment had passed the customs at the port and was stored in a warehouse.

Anti-Narcotics officials investing the case has not yet revealed details of the warehouse where the drug was stored. But the department is in touch with the Brazilian authorities for further investigation.

No arrests have been made yet.
