A man was robbed of about Dh8,000 and four bank cards by two compatriots in the toilet of a nightclub in Dubai. (File)
An Iraqi civil engineer, along with another person, allegedly attacked a compatriot in the washroom of a night club and stole from him Dh8,170 in addition to four bank cards and a Dh10,000 receipt of DNRD before running away, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
On May, 15. 2014, the victim, MM, 50, PRO, at around midnight, went to the night club of a hotel in Al Riqqa.
“I was there alone sitting at a one of the tables and four compatriots were sitting at a nearby table.
“At around 2am, I went to the washroom where I met two of the four who were sitting near to me.
“As I came out of the toilet, the two men, who were blocking the door with a cleaning tool, attacked me with four punches on the head. They stole my money and cards belonging me and my brother in addition to some documents of my employer before running away,” testified the victim.
Police investigated the complaint and arrested RZ, 35, and the victim recognised him when shown via identification parade.
The accused denied the accusation and the court will give its sentence on October 29.
