A 47-year-old unlicensed doctor, who allegedly assaulted a trainee, was sentenced to six months in jail.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance ordered KK, Indian, to be deported after serving his jail term.

The accused claimed what he did to the victim was part of a treatment for female related health issue.

The 22-year-old victim, SS, also an Indian national, told investigators that KK is a very well-known doctor of alternative medicine in her country and that he treats patients by massaging affected areas.

Her father used to visit him in his clinic in Jumeirah Lakes Tower, Dubai.

The doctor quit the clinic and continued to practice medicine in his flat in Al Quoz.

He was planning to open a specialised centre.

In September 2014, the doctor hired the victim as a trainee to learn alternative medicine, following which she started visiting his flat and treat patients under his supervision.

In November, the victim sought treatment for female-related health issues.

During the course of treatment the victim alleged the doctor molested her over three sessions.

Following the incidents the victim lodged a complaint against him.

The doctor admitted to what he did and claimed that it part of the treatment.

Later the accused refuted a part of the confession, stating he could have abused her by mistake.

The doctor is being prosecuted for sexual assault and practicing medicine without a licence.
