Driver to pay Dh10,000 for dead camel

A court in Abu Dhabi’s western town of Dhafra ordered an Asian driver to pay Dh10,000 to the owner of a camel which he ran over while driving recklessly.

The court also fined the driver Dh3,500 on charges of reckless driving that also caused damage to public property and his company’s vehicle.

The man told court that he was caught off guard by the camel but a traffic police report showed he was driving at high speed.
