Drug mules dressed in cocaine busted by Dubai

One of the two drug traffickers caught at Dubai Airport. The drugs were concealed in bandages tied to his legs.

Dubai’s Narcotic Drugs Control Department has arrested two people who were attempting to smuggle drugs through Dubai Airport.

Major General Abdul Jalil Mahdi, director of the department, said HBS, a 43-year-old Arab national arriving from Sao Paolo in Brazil was arrested after five kilos of a narcotic drug worth Dh700,000 was found concealed in his trousers.

The arrested person said he was asked to take the drugs to Syria in exchange for $3000 plus travel expenses.

In another incident, YA, a 30-year-old jobless Arab national coming from Sao Paolo on his way to Abidjan in Ivory Coast was arrested after 21 capsules of cocaine weighing 290 grammes was found in his underwear.

He said he had obtained the drug from Nigerians he met in Morocco. He said he was paid $3000 plus air tickets and hotel accommodation for carrying the drugs.
