Dubai industrial area's serial thieves on trial

Two Yemenis along with other accomplices allegedly committed six thefts during December 2012 by breaking into a company’s office and two warehouses in Al Quoz industrial area and stealing the cash found, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

In December 2012, police received a complaint from a warehouse in Al Quoz about thieves who had broken into the warehouse through a fire exit door and stole Dh1,500 and a mobile phone worth Dh1,000.

Another theft complaint was reported by a store of a company into which burglars entered and broke the safe, taking the Dh2,000 that it contained.

During the same month, thieves broke into a company’s  office in the same area and stole Dh4,000 and a mobile phone worth Dh,1000 after breaking the safe.

Police investigated the complaints and arrested TS 28, student, and AS, 20, unemployed. TS admitted to committing the thefts with AS and other Yemenis.

AS is currently serving a jail term of six months after a court found him guilty last November of theft along with two others.
