Employer fined Dh300k for illegal hiring

An Arab employer paid a heavy price for illegally hiring workers when a court in Ras Al Khaimah fined him Dh300,000.

The court also fined the expatriate workers and ordered their deportation from the UAE.

Labour inspectors conducting random visits to construction sites seized the six workers, who had no work permit and are not sponsored by that employer.

The immigration court in Ras Al Khaimah found that the six violated the labour law by working without sponsorship and the immigration law by staying in the country illegally. The six of various nationalities had already been deported from the UAE but have managed to sneak back in.
