A Jordanian woman business partner in a salon allegedly got a hairdresser’s visa cancelled after forging her signature on the application for labour card cancellation, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

RL, 45, Moroccan hairdresser, was shocked to learn that her residence visa had been cancelled and that she is banned from re-entering the country.

“As I had never signed on the labour card cancellation form, I suspected that my employer NW had forged my signature. I had been working for NW and her partner for Dh3,000 monthly salary. Following a dispute between the two partners, NW had cancelled my visa without informing me. I had never signed on any Ministry of Labour form relating to the cancellation of my labour card,” the hairdresser told investigators.

Police investigated RL’s complaint and Criminal Evidences reported that the signature on the application attributed to the complainant was forged.

Police arrested, NW, 38, Jordanian, who admitted to forging the signature of the hairdresser.

Dubai Prosecution accused the employer of forging and using official documents.

The court will reconvene on June 30.
