European kills lover for refusing to marry her in Dubai

An angry East European woman had a couple of drinks, went to the kitchen to get a knife then stabbed her lover just as he closed his eyes and tried to sleep on her bed after he refused her repeated pleas to marry her.

The 32-year-old woman then knelt down, hugged her dead boyfriend and started sobbing before phoning the police to tell them she had murdered her man.

Police, quoted by local newspapers, said they found the woman still standing near the bed and holding the knife in her hand as she stared at her bloodied boyfriend. 38.

The woman, who was not named, told investigators that she went mad when she nagged on her boyfriend to marry her but he would not open his eyes.

She said that she thought he was ignoring her but realised later that he was too tired and falling asleep after having a large quantity of liquor before coming to her flat in Al Nahda neighbourhood.

Police said the woman admitted that she had an affair with the man for nearly four years and that she had been asking him to marry her.

“She confessed to murdering her boyfriend because he kept rebuffing her. She said she loved him and wanted to be his wife and have children,” a police source said.
