A 14-year old girl who knew a man in Abu Dhabi through Facebook did not realise that this would lead to a gang-rape.
The man took her to Dubai and raped her while another one drove her to the eastern oasis town of Al Ain and raped her with a friend.
After they finished, she was again raped by another man and his brother.
The girl told a court in Abu Dhabi on Monday that she was forced to go out with the first defendant after he threatened to inform her family about their contacts through Facebook. He then took her to Dubai, where he raped her and left her alone.
She then contacted another Facebook acquaintance to give her a lift back to Abu Dhabi. Instead of doing so, he drove her to Al Ain, where he booked a room in a hotel and raped the girl before inviting his friend to have sex with her.
After she was left on her own in Al Ain, she contacted another man she knew through Facebook to take her back home.
Instead of giving her a lift, the man drove deep into the desert and took turns with his brother raping her.
During trial, the five defendants, two of whom are public servants, denied the charges, prompting the judge to adjourn hearings to January 21.
