A court in Dubai sentenced a Filipino to two years in prison and ordered his deportation after he was convicted of practicing medicine without permission while disguised as a woman, newspapers said on Thursday.
A female Sudanese health inspector led to the arrest of the Filipino, in his 40s, after she posed as a customer seeking to have her hand hair removed.
The woman suffered from serious burns on the hand and shoulder after he applied laser and other tools on her.
“Police then raided the health centre and arrested the man, who she had not known that he was a man,” Emirat Alyoum said, adding that they seized nearly 100 medical files for customers who underwent similar treatment.
