Five Asian bank thieves nabbed in Sharjah

Sharjah police arrested five Afghan men accused of targeting bank clients in their burglaries, using the old tricks that had landed many other thieves in UAE jails.

The five confessed to stalking people coming out of banks before pouring oil under their cars and telling them there is something wrong with their vehicle.

Once the driver steps out to check his vehicle, one of the defendants would open the door on the other side and make away with the targeted loot.

Police said the five also used a new trick by littering cash notes under the victim’s car and telling him money is dropping out of the vehicle.

“As the driver comes out of the car to look underneath, one or two of the thieves open the door and steal money and other items,” police said in a statement.
