A woman stripped off most of her clothes and entered the Co-op store at Oud Al  Muteena area to escape attackers who tried to pull her and her woman friend into their car, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Two Iranian women admitted that on October 16, they met two men in a bar where they consumed alcohol and then accompanied them to their house in Oud Al Muteena area.

In the house, where there were other men, they smoked ‘shisha.’

“One of the men asked me for sex and I went with him to a room. Then BY asked me to take off my dress which I did. As we felt that the atmosphere had  changed, my friend and I decided to run away. We ran until were reached the Union Co-op store but the two men chased us in their car and tried to pull us into the car, but we could flee them,” said SK, 33, Iranian visitor.

Her friend FF, 17, Iranian trader, repeated corroborative testimony and said one of the two men tried to pull her into the car but she bit him, ran away and informed the police.

Police rushed to the area and asked a security guard of the Co-op store if he had noticed any problem in the area.

“One of the staff told me that he saw two women running and a white Camry chasing them. One of the men tried to drag a woman into the car. She stopped and removed her dress except for the underwear. The attackers snatched the woman’s handbag before she managed to run away and enter the Co-op Society store,” testified the officer.

The woman then ran to the society’s mosque to put on her dress.

Reviewing CCTV footage, the officer saw the car chasing two women but its number plate was not clear.

The officer asked the woman SK who told him that she was with her friend in the attacker’s house and that she had sex with a man without telling him whether it was against her will. Then, when many men wanted to have sex with her, the two women ran away.

The officer searched the area looking for SK’s friend.

SK also showed the police MY and BY’s house.

The car that was parked outside had a nylon folder on the number plate, which was why it was not clear in the camera footage.

Police waited in front of the house until two men got out. The men noticed the police and they got in again.

The officer asked for permission to open the car in which SK’s handbag was found.

Forensic reported scratches and bruises on SK’s and her friend FF’s body.

The two women are being prosecuted in the Misdemeanour Court.

While their attackers BY and unidentified companion are being prosecuted before the Criminal Court for attempt to kidnap and theft of Dh4,500 and iPhone that were in the hand bag in addition to consuming alcohol.

The accused failed to appear before the Court which scheduled the case for February 24.
