Gang busted for luring maids into prostitution

A human trafficking gang in Dubai led by a woman has been busted following a tip-off from an Emirati employer whose domestic help was caught in the trap.

The Anti-Organised Crime Department of the General Department of Dubai Criminal Investigation arrested an Asian woman - an absconding housemaid herself - and her three accomplices. All four have been charged with human trafficking.

The woman allegedly lured housemaids to urged them to flee from their sponsors. Once they relented, one of her accomplices from another emirate was responsible to get the girls to a rented apartment. There they were allegedly forced into prostitution.

The incident came to light when one Emirati woman alerted the Dubai Police's operations room saying her housemaid was detained in an apartment in Deira and was being forced by a compatriot into prostitution, said Col Abdul Rahim Mohammed Shafi, Director of Department for Combating Organised Crime.

Police raided the said place and discovered two maids.

The woman gang leader denied she forced maids into prostitution or to escape from their respective sponsors.

Facebook friend forces her into prostitution

A Filipina allegedly made friendship with a woman in her own country through Facebook and brought her to the UAE and then forced her into prostitution.

The Filipina maid and a Pakistani driver have been charged for human trafficking and forcing the woman into prostitution, the Dubai Criminal Court was told on Thursday.

JFT conned the victim, SDB, mother, by promising her a saleswoman job in Dubai. She got a visit visa issued for her but when the victim arrived here, she was confined and forced into prostitution.

JFT is also accused of running a brothel in Al Satwa area. The Driver SRI, 31, Pakistani is accused of raping the victim.

SDB, 31, testified that she knew JFT via Facebook and then she offered her a job in Dubai and issued her a visa. On September 7, she arrived in the UAE and was received by JFT who was accompanied by a friend. They drove her to a house where she seized her passport and asked her to pay Dh20,000 for bringing her to Dubai.

“I told her that I cannot pay this amount, so she said that I should work in prostitution. As I refused she threatened with depriving me from travelling back home and seeing my children and parents and confined me in the house. She forced me into prostitution and she was collecting money from customers. There was another woman staying in the house who also worked as a prostitute. SRI had forcible sex with me twice.”

SDB managed to escape when JFT was asleep and went to her country’s consulate where she reported about the accused.

Police raided the flat and arrested the two; the victim recognised them during the identification parade. The court adjourned the case till May 14.

Man, woman locked in naked; man falls to death

Three Pakistanis allegedly confined a naked compatriot in the kitchen of his flat with a prostitute and, while trying to escape through the kitchen window, the man slipped and fell to his death from the 11th floor, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

NKG, 27, driver, MAS, 31, and BMK, 28, electrician, are accused of confining RAM in the kitchen of his flat. The victim fell to his death as he tried to use a cable of TV dish to get down.

NKG is accused of having forcible sex with NAG, 28, visitor and confining her with the deceased in the kitchen.

NAG and SRA, 27, visitor, both Pakistanis, are accused of practicing prostitution.

The prosecution asked the court to apply stiffest penalties on the accused.

According to the records, the deceased RAM brought NAG from her country and received her from the airport on November 4. He brought her to a flat in Al Nahda area which he operated as a prostitution den. There were two other women in the flat. Talking to them, NAG realised that there were prostitutes. The deceased told her that she will work as a prostitute to pay back Dh14,600 being the cost of bringing her into the country, NAG testified.

“I accepted that and RAM started bringing men to the flat. On November 21, he called and told me that he will be coming with customers. As he entered the flat, the men claimed that they were from the CID. One of them took me to a room and asked me to undress.  When I refused, he slapped me and forcibly undressed me and had sex with me. Then he pulled me into the kitchen. He forced RAM to undress himself. They recorded a video of both of us naked. They left the kitchen and locked us in. RAM attempted to get out through the kitchen window using the cable of a TV dish but fell to the ground as he lost his balance,” she testified.

When the police arrived at the scene, the naked man was lying dead in a pool of blood. Policemen broke into the flat and then the kitchen and released the woman who was sitting scared in a corner of the kitchen. The suspects had taken the mobile phones of the deceased and the woman.

Police arrested the accused and forensic reported that NKG’s sperms were found on the victim’s body.
