A Vietnamese security guard was found guilty of running a brothel and attacking some men in Dubai’s International City over a dispute with a prostitute and was sentenced to two years in prison.

The Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance also sentenced TA, 29, to another six months in jail and ordered him to pay Dh5,000 fine for trespassing other’s property. TA was ordered to be deported after serving his jail term.

According to the records, the first victim MA, 42, driver, told investigators that while he was sleeping with his two brothers and a cousin in their studio flat, he woke up as someone was trying to break the door.

“Suddenly, five men rushed into the flat and started beating me and my brother. They attempted to stab us with large knives they were holding. I tried to avoid the knife attack and got my shoulder and hand wounded. My brother fell on the floor. I could not identify them as it was dark,” testified MA.

The victim’s cousin, MS, 23, driver, told investigators that MD had asked someone to send him a girl who arrived later accompanied by a Vietnamese. Later, a dispute arose between MD, the woman and the man accompanying her. The man was one of the attackers who broke into the flat.

Police arrested TA, 29, Vietnamese and Dubai Prosecution filed five accusations against him including running a vice den, invading other’s privacy, damaging other’s property and assaulting two men.
