Hotel staff attacked by masked gang in Karama

Gang allegedly used cricket bats and hockey sticks in the attack

Three employees of the Jabal Araf in Karama have filed a police complaint in Dubai stating that a gang of men, wearing masks, attacked them in the early hours of Friday, December 28, at their company accommodation, also in Karama.

According to the victims, the gang used cricket bats and hockey sticks in the attack.

One of the victims, identified as being a Bangladeshi, sustained serious head injuries in the attack.

Speaking to Emirates 24|7, the manager of the restaurant, who asked not to be named, said, “We closed the restaurant at about 1am on Friday and the three employees left for their accommodation near the hotel after completing the cleaning.

“When they were about to enter their room, someone called out to one of the employees and when he answered, the masked men with hockey sticks and cricket bats pounced on them.”

The manager said he is not aware of any issues that would have triggered the attack.

A formal police complaint has been lodged with the Bur Dubai Police Station.

A police investigation is on to nab the gang.
