An Arab housewife who acted as a pharmacist has been arrested by Abu Dhabi Police for selling medically controlled drugs without doctor’s prescription at the pharmacy run by her husband.

Colonel Rashid Borshid, director of criminal investigation at Abu Dhabi Police, said 35-year-old NTH was caught red handed selling narcotic pills to an anti-narcotics officer playing the role of a buyer.

After striking a deal with the undercover officer, the ‘pharmacist’ asked him to come at a time when the pharmacy was not crowded with patients.

Prescription drugs were also found at her home.

Police said the suspect was very cautious and used to deal with customers only through trusted intermediaries.

Police said the suspect has confessed to possessing and selling narcotic pills without prescription.
