Hubby threatens to kill ex-wife if she does not come back

A Syrian allegedly abused his ex-wife and threatened to kill her if she does not come back to him, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

When the 30-year-old victim, HJ, finished her work at a hospital in Dubai on June 9, she saw her ex-husband waiting for her in the street.

“He had asked me for a meeting but I refused. On that day I saw him waiting for me in the street in front of my office. He abused me and threatened to kill me if I do not get back to him,” the woman told investigators.

The ex-wife also supplied investigators with an SMS he had sent her which contained abuses that she had lodged in an earlier case against him.

The Dubai Prosecution asked the court to implement stiff penalty against SA, 29, employee.

The accused was not present in the court which will announce its verdict on October 28.
