An Indian husband cut his wrists after stabbing his wife to death has died at Al Rashid Hospital, Dubai.

Renjith Nediyavilayil (45), is the husband of the female school-bus attendant, Soniya (35), who he stabbed to death in front of the school gate in Al Garhoud.

Renjith was admitted to the Al Rashid Hospital by the Dubai Police after the attack.

According to sources, the Indian couple hailing from Varkala, Kerala came to the UAE about one-and-a- half year ago.

A source close to the family alleged that a chit-fund run by the couple ended up in losses and the family members were facing the wrath of creditors.

Sonia’s body is in the Dubai Police morgue, where Renjith’s body will also be transferred.

The couple have two children, Adithya (12) and Venkatesh (10), both living in India.

The source reveals that Renjith, who came to the Gulf after failing in his businesses, was quite distressed and the couple’s family only came to know about their presence in Dubai recently.

After stabbing his wife, Renjith is believed to have used the same weapon to slit his wrists.

Renjith was in hospital for three days and died on Monday.
