Illegal submits forged passport to tourism company for issuing 53 visas

Two jobless Indians, who were also illegal residents, allegedly forged a passport and submitted it to a tourist company as a guarantee for issuing 53 visas, the Dubai Criminal Court was on Tuesday.

MAF, 45, with the help of a fugitive forged the passport by removing the picture of its original holder and replacing it with his own. He is also accused of conning the travel and tourism company to get 53 visas issued by depositing forged passport as a guarantee so the visitors will leave the country before the expiry date of the visas.

AAA, 44, is accused of criminal complicity.

The owner of the tourism company, IAF, 32, testified that in February MAF approached his company and asked for issuing visas to people from India. MAF was accompanied by another person, who said that his name was TH, claimed that he owned a store and submitted cheques with the store’s name.

The so-called TH signed a contract with the tourism company for the issuance of the visas and committed to bearing fines if visitors fail to leave the country. IAF later found that the passport was forged so he lodged a complaint with the police.

In May, one of the two accused approached the tourism company and was seized by the employees and handed over to the police.

The accused confessed that as he was an illegal resident in the UAE and does not hold a passport. He sought help of a fugitive to arrange him a forged passport to submit to the company. He got the forged passport against Dh1,000. Police found that the cheque was also forged and that the accused does not own any store.

The court will reconvene on December 9.
