IT technician at university leaks papers to student

A university student bribed an IT technician to leak him examination papers of 15 courses, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

According to the records, the university’s administration learnt that some papers were leaked to students so a meeting was called of all the employees related to the IT department.

When confronted them with question paper leaking, the administrators noticed that RK, 29, Indian, who holds authority to control and maintain all IT related issues, got confused during the conversation.

During further questioning, RK admitted that he had photocopied 15 question papers and sent them via “WhatsApp” to AS, 32, Omani student, who was also a a public relation employee, testified a dean at the university.

RK admitted that he had agreed with the student that the latter shall pay him Dh500 per exam paper.

He took pictures of the papers with his mobile that the student had asked him for and sent them via “WhatsApp”.

The student paid him a total of Dh7,500. The court will reconvene on October 30.
