Khorfakkan villa jewellery heist: 9 jailed

A court in Khorfakkan sentenced seven Asians and Europeans to two years in prison and ordered their deportation from the UAE after they were convicted of robbing villas in the eastern port, newspapers reported on Tuesday.

The seven were arrested by the police after the Emirati owner of the villa reported that thieves broke into the place and stole money and jewellery.

The seven, who were not identified, confessed to the late night robbery last month.
