A criminal court in Ras Al Khaimah sentenced an Asian man who murdered his colleague to three years and six months in prison and ordered his deportation after paying Dh60,000 diya (blood money) to the victim’s relatives.
The unidentified man had used a big rock to smash the head of his room mate following an argument over rent and power bills.
“The victim’s relatives agreed to pardon the defendant in return for Dh60,000 diya,” the Arabic language daily 'Al Khaleej' said.
