Emirati Salem Al Mazmi, the father of 9-month old Salamah, said that his daughter suffered serious injuries as a result of an assault by an Indonesian maid.

In details of what happened to his daughter, he pointed out that his daughter is in a very critical condition and suffered from bleeding in the skull, in addition to bruises in the face and a fractured rib.

She is under intensive care at Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah.

He told reporters yesterday that the bedrooms in the home are not covered by surveillance cameras, pointing out that the maid was aware of it and proceeded to hit Salamah.

The father of the baby, explained that he searched the luggage of the accused maid after she was arrested by the police and found what he believed to be “magic tools”, such as hair, cat placenta, scraps of paper and symbols, and talismans.

He added, “I noticed more than once that there is hair in the food that was offered to us, and when I asked her why this is happening, she answers that she doesn’t know.”

He pointed out that he discovered his daughter had been beaten and tortured after her pulse stopped last week and he rushed her to Al Qassimi Hospital.

He then opened a case with the Wasit police station.

The police, according to Emarat Al Youm, have placed the maid under arrest.

Al Mazmi assured that he and his family treated the maid properly and was shocked that she would hurt his child.

The maid is facing charges of attempted murder, which is punishable by imprisonment for not less than three years with a ban from the country.
