A preliminary investigation into the Ethiopian maid's knife attack on three Emirati children, has revealed that she is also accused of poured boiling water on children, Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant to the Dubai Police Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, stated to Arabic press.

The maid is accused of trying to kill the three children of her employer.

He told ‘Al Ittihad’ newspaper that if maid is convicted by the Criminal Court she could face life imprisonment.

Al Mansouri added that the maid should have resorted to contacting the competent authorities for her rights instead of embarking on the killing of innocent children.

Meanwhile, speaking to Emaral Al Youm, the mother of the children has said she treated the Ethiopian maid in a very good manner without any discrimination.

She added, “I never prevented her from travelling or delayed her salary.”

“I was outside the house at the time of the crime while my three children (two girls - 16 and 15 years, and a boy of 11) were sleeping in one room.

The mother also said she believed maid was provoked by a maid of one of her neighbours who is of the same nationality.

“The cleaver used in the crime does not belong to us,” she said.

She added: I will not be satisfied unless the maid sentenced.”

Earlier report

An Ethiopian housemaid waited for three Emirati children to go to bed and their parents to go out of the night before attacking them with a kitchen knife.

The maid first struck the 16-year-old daughter who screamed and fled to the bathroom, where she was later joined by her wounded brother and sister.

Police said the eldest daughter and her 11-year-old sister were seriously injured while their 14-year-old brother suffered from medium wounds.

After locking themselves in the bathroom at their house in Warqa area, the children called the police but did not give them their location during the brief phone call.

Police, quoted by Emarat Al Youm daily, said they managed to locate the house via the GPS system and sent a big force to storm the place.

The children were saved and taken to hospital while the maid tried to flee through the window with her passport but was caught.

“She told the police that she wanted to take revenge against the kid's parents because they delayed her salary and refused to let her travel home to see her family,” a police source said.

So she waited for an opportunity and when the parents were not at home, she attacked the children.

The maid has been referred to the Prosecution on charges of attempted murder.

Meanwhile, the children’s' father was quoted as saying that the maid who has been working for the family for a year-an-a-half had requested for leave to travel home, but the family had asked her to wait until the end of the current school year in July.
