Man beaten up for refusing pimp's offer
A man was beaten up in Dubai and robbed as he refused to be intimate with women offered to him by people on the street.
“I was waiting for my friend outside a supermarket in Al Muraqqabat area as he went in to buy some stuff, when three men approached me and offered the services of women. I refused their offer and advised them not to do such work.
“They beat me up claiming that I had abused them but I did not. Then they made a phone call and another 12 people arrived. They pulled me into a building and dragged me into a flat where they beat me up with a steel bar and threatened me with a knife. They asked me to give them my belongings, but I refused, so they searched my body and stole my wallet, which contained Dh4,000 in addition to my watch, which was a gift from my brother.
"They then cleaned my wounds and asked me not to inform the police and let me go. I called my friend and we both went and reported the incident to the police. The officials came along and I guided them to the flat and then was rushed to the hospital,” he testified.
Police later showed me the three of the attacker and I recognised three of them. The three denied the accusation and the court will issue its sentence on June 26.
