A Pakistani salesman allegedly agreed to smuggle 74 capsules stuffed with more than half a kilogramme of heroin for 50,000 Pakistani rupees, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.
JA, 25, returned to the UAE on September 9 through Dubai International Airport.
On arrival, suspicious customs officers subjected him to body check.
“The scanning device proved that his body contained capsules, so he was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics department,” testified Sergeant Saif Al Shamsi.
The accused released 74 capsules in Rashid Hospital. The capsules contained 559.80 grammes of heroin.
The accused admitted to smuggling in the capsules to hand them over to a person in the UAE against Pakistani rupees 50,000.
The court will reconvene on January 4.
