Man found hanging at RAK construction site

An Asian construction worker apparently committed a suicide after he was found hanging by a power cable in the 10th floor of a building under construction in Ras Al Khaimah, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Colleagues phoned the police after they saw the 38-year-old worker hanging by the cable on Monday, the semi official daily Alittihad said.

“The man is a worker at the contracting company carrying out this building project…we are investigating the incident,” said Lt. Colonel Aref Al Kaz, director of the city police in RAK.

He identified the victim only as MMA, the third Asian man to commit a suicide in the UAE in two days. Two Indians were reported on Monday to have killed themselves in Dubai and Ajman.
