A Tanzanian woman allegedly hit a Lebanese man with a glass causing him 40 per cent sight disability, and abused him as he made sexual references during a party, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The Lebanese man, AH, 29, is also accused of consuming alcohol and abusing his attacker KS, 31.

At around 8.30pm on Thursday, February 5, 2015, both were attending a party with a group of people in AH's girlfriend BH's house in Al Muteena area.

"After dinner we had some alcohol and at around 12.30am a misunderstanding happened between me and KS. Suddenly, she threw a glass on my face and I started bleeding," said AH.

One of the eye witness in the party, SS, 27, Tanzanian said her compatriot KS shouted loudly saying, "The Lebanese man made sexual reference and said to her: 'If you stay as friends and live together, how will we get babies'."

KS tried to leave the place after the incident, but he tried to calm her down. She then threw a glass at him and abused him.

The Lebanese man was rushed to the hospital where he was informed to have suffered 40 per cent permanent sight disability.

The court will reconvene on May 8.
