Man robs friend’s clothes shop in Kalba

An Asian man arrested by police for stealing over Dh131,000 from a clothes shop in Kabla turned out to be a close friend of the shop owner.  

The owner, also Asian, was in Dubai when he was asked by Kalba police to come to the station to identify a man suspected of robbing his shop.

“When he saw his friend at the police station, he was shocked to know he was the thief…the owner told police that he was in Dubai and asked that friend to take his family home in Kalba on that day as he trusted him,” Emirat Alyoum daily said.

It said the thief confessed to stealing the money and hiding it under the seat in his car. “He said he knew where his friend put the money as he was with him in the shop on the same day,” the paper added.
