A Pakistani administrative manager allegedly sexually assaulted a job seeker in his flat in the International City, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The 19-year-old victim, SJ, Indian housewife, told the court that she applied for a vacancy in a real estate company.

“I called the number and sent my CV. On March 22, I received a call and the caller asked me for a meeting. I went with my husband to Al Rashidiya to meet him. During the meeting, he said that he would train me for some office-related works. Since my husband had to go to his work, he told me that I could go with him for the training,” the victim told the court.

“He drove to the International City and then asked me to go up with him. He said that the company is in the same building where he resides. He asked me to get in if I want to be trained. He then asked me to move to the bedroom as the computer was there. As I went in, he also got in behind me and locked the door,” testified the victim.

The accused then asked the victim for sex but she refused.

“I got scared when he started taking off his shirt. When I told him that I would meet him some other time, he grabbed me and molested me. I pretended accepting his advances so that I could open the door, which was behind me. When I tried to get out of the room, he prevented me and raped me. Later he dropped me to Abu Hail area and asked me not to tell anyone, promising me monthly salary if I meet him again,” she testified before the court.

The victim informed her husband and the couple lodged a complaint with the police.

Police arrested AN, 33, and the victim recognised him when shown to her via identification parade.

The court will announce its verdict on May 26.
