An Egyptian marketing executive allegedly tried to rape a Filipina accountant in her office by pretending interest in showing her how a massage device worked.

HH, 40, worked in a company located on the same floor of the building as that of the victim.

“Two months ago, he met me in the corridor and gave me his business card, but I did not pay any attention to him.  Later, he met me again and asked me why I had not called him. I politely answered him that I was busy. Two weeks before the crime, he knocked at my company’s door at around 5.15pm while I was alone. I opened the door and saw him standing at the door step. He asked my again why I had not called him. I repeated that I was busy.

“He then told me that he had returned from leave and that he had a massage device and wanted to show me how it worked. I asked him to be seated while I sat on the sofa. He started explaining about the device but all of a sudden he grabbed my arm, saying that muscles should be held for effective relaxation,” the victim testified.

At this point, the victim asked the man to stay away from her and said she did not want to know more about the massage device. But he pushed her to the sofa and sat on her. She tried to prevent him from raping her but he was very heavy. When he took off his trousers for sexual intercourse, the victim ran outside the office.

“When I knocked at the door of the office of another company and sought help, the office attendant asked me to seek help from the security. I turned around and rushed into an office as the door was open. I closed the door behind me and stayed there for five minutes before opening the door again and going down to the security officer at the reception.  He took me to the camera control room and called his senior who came and caught the accused who was about to leave the building,” the victim testified.

SN, accountant, rushed down to the camera control room and while hearing about the woman’s problem, she saw the attacker moving towards the building’s entrance. She asked the security officer to catch him. The security officer caught the accused but he denied the accusation and said  the woman is lying.

When the victim heard this, she rushed out of the camera control room and threw a bottle of water that was given to her to calm her down. She shouted at him, saying “How dare you do that?”

The victim was asked to go up to the accountant’s office from where she called her husband and the police. The victim was in a state of shock and was unable to talk to the police when they arrived.

Reviewing camera footage, the accused was seen chasing the woman and grabbing her hand but she managed to run away from him, according to the records.

HH is facing the charge of defilement under duress that he denied before the court which will reconvene on December 24.
