What's that?! A request can cost your ear...

Two Bangladeshi masons allegedly assaulted a compatriot with a shovel causing a cut on the upper part of the victim’s ear, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The masons were provoked when the victim asked them to be careful to avoid cement falling on him from a bucket.

Based on the medical report, the prosecution also accused NAM, 27, and SDM, 26, of causing WSS, the victim, five per cent permanent disability.

The 23-year-old victim testified that while he was at work behind the out-patient clinic of the Iranian Hospital on January 21, he asked NAM to be careful while handing down a bucket he was using to carry cement up.

“NAM got down and SDM held me, allowing the former to hit me with a shovel that he was carrying in his hand. I was rushed to the hospital for treatment,” the victim testified.

His co-worker, FAA, 21, testified that he saw part of the victim’s ear on the ground after the blows that he got on his head.

The court will reconvene on May 27.
