Pardoned prisoners back to jail for rape

Two Emirati prisoners who were pardoned last week after spending jail terms for car robbery in Fujairah have been sent back to prison on charges of raping an Ethiopian housemaid, a newspaper reported on Monday.

Police investigating the rape discovered a clue that the two were involved in raping the housemaid after she provided police with their descriptions.

The two were arrested and both confessed to the rape charges, Alkhaleej daily said, adding they would stand trial soon.

It identified them only as HA and AG and said they had robbed nearly 30 cars in the eastern emirate.
