Passenger hiding 1.2kg of cocaine in stomach caught at Dubai airport

A Nigerian visitor allegedly smuggled in 78 tablets that contained more than 1.2kg of cocaine in his stomach, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

Customs Inspector Asma noticed that the passenger DS,34, who arrived at Dubai airport from Brazil, was in an abnormal condition.

“He looked scared, tired and was looking around. I suspected him and asked my colleague to search him. We did not find any banned thing in his luggage. However, the X-ray check showed strange stuff in his body,” she testified.

The passenger admitted to carrying cocaine in his digestive organ. He has been charged with smuggling in and possessing a narcotic substance for sale.
