Phone prize scam gang nabbed in Sharjah

Sharjah police arrested four Bangladeshi men on charges of swindling others by calling their mobile phones and asking them to transfer call credit to get presumed cash prizes.

Police acted after it was flooded by calls from victims who said they had received phone calls from unknown persons asking them to transfer call credit to receive their presumed prizes. Once the credit it sent, the caller’s phone is shut.

Police said investigation led them to identify the callers and their whereabouts, adding they arrested four of them at a house, where they also seized many mobile phone SIM cards not registered in their names.

The four were found to be staying in the UAE illegally and all of them confessed to fraud charges.

    Me and my friends received a lot of calls asking to transfer credit to their mobile but from a proper Urdu speaking person, so the main leaders are seems still to be caught and to be punished.
