A 27-year-old Bangladeshi worker, who killed a prostitute after paying her only half of Dh100 she demanded for having sex in an abandoned house in Al Mankhool area, was awarded 15-year jail followed by deportation by the Dubai court on Tuesday.
According to the records, the accused, MKN, strangled the woman in an abandoned house at Al Mankhool area with her headscarf and left the place. Her badly decomposed body was later discovered by a municipality worker during the demolition of the building six months later.
Forensic doctor Mohammed Azoz, 57, testified that he was assigned to check her body found abandoned at a house in Al Mankhool area.
“The body was of a woman in her thirties and was decomposed. I suspected a crime when I saw the body that was covered with a wooden board. There was also a headscarf wrapped twice around her neck, apparently suffocated six months ago. Tests proved that she was not under the influence of alcohol or drug. We could not take her fingerprints as her hands were completely decomposed. Samples were taken from her teeth, nails and leg bone to help identify the body,” testified the doctor.
Some bottles and cigarette butts were found at the crime scene were also tested at the laboratory. A cigarette butt carried the DNA of the accused when police matched with its records.
Investigations led to MKN who initially denied killing her, but when confronted with evidence he confessed strangling her with her headscarf.
The accused confessed to police that both agreed to have sex and he took her to an abandoned house in Al Mankool area where she asked him for Dh100 but as he paid her only Dh50. She threatened to send men who will force him pay the full amount. So he strangled her with her headscarf and stayed there till he was sure that she was dead.
The accused told the police that he worked as a pimp and knew the woman because she was a prostitute.
Lieutenant Rashid Saeed testified that a Dubai Municipality worker found the body in the abandoned house during the demolition work.
The woman was identified as Salma because there was a white bag next to the decomposed body containing a SIM card and jewellery invoices that carried the name of Salma
