RAK dad demands death for son's killers

The Emirati father of a young man stabbed to death by four Arabs in Ras Al Khaimah, told the court on Sunday he would not accept blood money and insisted on the execution of the murderers, newspapers reported on Sunday.

The father was asked by court whether he would pardon the defendants in return for ‘diya’ (blood money) in line with Islamic law.

“The father rejected diya and insisted on the execution of the four killer during court hearings on Sunday,” the Arabic language daily ‘Emarat Al Youm’ said.

The four were arrested in August last year after they were found to have attacked the victim and stabbed him in the chest.

They also face charges of taking drugs.
