A collision of two vehicles on Al Dhaid Road on Tuesday, left a 53-year-old woman dead and two persons injured, according to Sharjah Police.
The woman who died in the collision was driving one of the cars involved in the accident. She was trapped inside the car as a result of the impact of the collision. The driver of the other vehicle was a 55-year-old man, reports Al Khaleej newspaper.
The paramedics arrived at the scene of the accident and pried the drivers out of their cars. The woman was admitted in Al Qassimi hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police probe revealed that accident occured when the woman tried to overtake the other vehicle which was being driven on the same lane.
In yet another case of accident in Umm Al Quwain, an Asian man was killed after being run over.
A vehicle was travelling at high speed when it hit the pedestrian when it was crossing the road, reports Al Ittihad. The speed limite in that area is 40kms/hour while the driving was speeding at 70-85kms/hour, revealed police officials.
