A staff at a telecom provider who robbed clients when they paid via credit card for their purchases received three months in jail followed by deportation sentence.

According to the records, a client, IB, approached a stand of the telecom provider at Mirdif City Centre, to buy iPhone 4 and two SIM cards.

"The price was Dh2,999 and I handed the employee my credit card. She swapped it twice but I did not give attention to what she did exactly, later I found out that the deducted amount was Dh3,949. So I lodged a complaint against her," said the client.

The provider investigated with NJ, 30, regarding this incident. NJ admitted to deducting an additional Dh950 from the client.

Checking all transactions that the employee processed for over a month, it was found out that she has used the swapping machine 333 times for different clients who paid via credit card.

She admitted to stealing a total Dh8,850 from 31 clients.

However, checking her transactions, it was discovered that she stole a total of Dh10,320.
