An Emirati student allegedly threatened to kill two women if they did not tell him the whereabouts his former girlfriend, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

MN, Uzbek businesswoman lives with her brother and other two friends in a flat at Al Nahda 1 area. Yasmin used to live with them.

During her stay, Yasmin told both MN and NR about her relationship with an Emirati, AA.

She also showed them his pictures, which she had in her mobile phone.

The two housemates, neither met Yasmin's boyfriend nor did they talk to him, according to their testimonies.

However, Yasmin had told them that her boyfriend is abusing her and they noticed some bruises on her face.

Yasmin left the house upon MN's request following a dispute with her.

On April 10, 2015, at midnight Yasmin's boyfriend called MN on her mobile phone. He introduced himself and asked Yasmin's whereabouts.

"I did not know how he got my mobile number. However, since I did not know where Yasmin stays, I told him that.

"It seems that he did not believe me. He threatened to come to my flat and kill me with a knife. I hung up the call and he kept calling me several times but I did not answer.

"He then sent me voice messages. I answered some of these messages and asked him not to call me or send me messages or I will inform the police," testified MN.

MN told her housemate NR about AA's call. On the following day, AA called NR and so the latter recorded the call.

He also threatened to kill her if she did not tell him about his girlfriend's whereabouts.

The two women reported the matter to the police.

Police showed them pictures and they recognised him as they had seen his photographs on Yasmin's mobile.

Police arrested AA, 29, and found threat messages on his mobile phone.

Dubai Prosecution supplied the court with the messages and voice recording messages through which AA had threatened the two women.

AA failed to appear in court which will reconvene on May 17.
