A 35- year-old Sudanese trader allegedly possessed nine forged Saudi Riyal 500 currency notes, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

He approached a money exchange for converting SR28,500. An employee of the exchange noticed that SR4,500 of the total were forged.

Criminal Evidences reported that the notes were neatly forged in such a way that ordinary people cannot find it out.

The accused admitted to exchanging Sudanese currency for Saudi riyals in his home country in the black market but failed to present any proof of his claims.

The Court will reconvene on December 4.
